KJ believes all arts make a difference in peoples lives and everyone should be give the access and oppotunity to come along and try. KJ loves to work within the community and have meaningful experiences. KJ began her contemporary dance training at The University of Chichester graduating with a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in 2010, after which she went on to join Transitions Dance Company where she toured internationally and gained her Masters Degree in Dance Performance from Trinity Laban (MA).ĭuring her professional dance career she has performed for a number of choreographers such as Akram Khan, Flexer and Sandiland, James Wilton, Jorge Crecis, Balbir Singh, Yukiko Masui, Laowai Collab Dance, GlassHouse, Lila Dance, Tim Casson, Katie Green and Marisa Zanotti.įor the past 13 years KJ has given much of her time to her passion in teaching, KJ teaches a full range of ages and styles including teaching as an associate lecturer at the University of Chichester since 2014. KJ Mortimer currently performs for Stopgap Dance Company and Commotion Dance. Get Dancing! takes place in the Steven Pimlott Building - the wooden building closest to the Broyle Road site entrance - at CFT.Īll Get Into It! term-long sessions cost £100. Sessions take place on Mondays from 2 - 3.30pm on the following dates:Ģ, 9, 16, 30 October (Half Term – no session 23 October) Working with Dancer and Choreographer KJ Mortimer, participants will gently explore dance styles inspired by CFT’s past and current productions, and will work towards an informal sharing event in the final session of term. ![]()
